England

With a battle hardened squad after an excellent last 18 months of fixtures, England will be

considered by many as a solid chance to go all the way in France. The Lionesses are in a rare position where they have no real dominant players, rather a balanced squad of solid contributors, in which goals could come from anywhere. This surplus of talent leaves them very tough to defend against and this will be a monumental task for the Scottish, Argentinian and Japanese defenders. An outstanding undefeated performance in the recent SheBelieves Cup featured an exceptional 3-0 victory over World Cup opponents Japan, which provides a

very interesting dynamic to that final Group D fixture.

With their players featuring in all the biggest leagues around Europe, the English squad will hope to dominate games deep into the tournament. Former Manchester United and English fullback Phil Neville has taken the reins and has looked to impart his knowledge, with England now adept at building up play to create chances. Will they finish enough chances to go deep into this tournament? From the perspective of a nation whose fans have been desperately pursuing World Cup glory for so long now, they will certainly hope so.

PREDICTION: Group: 1 st Overall: Semi Final, 4th place

Fact: England’s Euro 2017 Semi-Final loss to the Netherlands was watched by a maximum of 4 million viewers in England, beating Big Brother that same night. The Lionesses will be hoping that a deep run into the tournament will smash that record.
